Hey, everyone! People are finally using the DE message boards! I've got an awful lot of messages to answer this time around, so let's just get to it. Our first two comments are in reference to May's Thought of the Month, which made fun of the overrated bestseller Angels and Demons. Gross. I am eating now. Eileen
Let this be a lesson to you all: never read a Dan Brown book at the table. Yeah! To quote Charles Caleb Colton: "Many books require no thought from those who read them, and for a very simple reason they made no such demand upon those who wrote them." Diorissimo
Thanks for writing, Diorissimo. I'm not familiar with the quote, but I suspect there should be a colon between the words "reason" and "they", which would radically change the meaning. It's sort of like the commas in the sentence, "Lucy eats, shoots, and leaves." Yes, I used to be an English teacher. All right, this next one addresses my review of Tim Burton's Batman.
Johnny Depp was just too young to play Batman in 1989. We all know that he would have been Tim Burton's first choice...as usual. Alex 6
Yes, and Helena Bonham Carter would have played both Vicki Vale and the Joker as well as Commissioner Gordon, District Attorney Harvey Dent, the Mayor, and, of course, Alfred. Let's move on to the message board for our very first podcast recording here at the DE website, Pod Pilot. Final Fantasy RULES! Leave a comment if you agree with me. Alex 6
Rules what? Next. Interesting opinion, guys. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next pod. Hiro
Thank you for the kind words, Hiro. We're still experimenting with the podcast format and we appreciate every bit of feedback. I guess, since you left a comment, that means you agree with Alex 6 that Final Fantasy RULES! Okay, the following message is from the board for June's Thought of the Month, but I'm not entirely sure to what it refers. Hot guy who turns into vampire and bites, that is sooo romantic! Edelweiss
You know what? I think I'll reply with another Thought of the Month. Just click on the link below: Thought of the Month: March 2009 It seems Alex 6 really is fond of the Dreamersedge Podcast. Here is what our loyal listener had to say about the episode Bat Trilogy Part I: Tim Versus Timm. Interesting comments from P.O. Agree with what you said about Tim Burton, guys. Very entertaining, I'll definitely come back next week! Alex 6
Thank you, Alex 6. I'm glad you like our podcast show, though I should point out it's a bi-weekly series, so I hope you weren't too disappointed at having to wait another seven days. Also, I passed on your kind words to our guest panelist P-O. Here's what he wrote back: "Ooh! Ooh! Fans!" That P-O, he sure enjoys his little monkey dance. Don't worry. He's just excited. I'm sure he'll be more articulate next time. Now, here's a particularly weird one referring to the article Twenty-Five Unhelpful Things about Dimitri. Unhelpful comment digesting 25 and turning them into 1 (I know how to correctly use my computer and Internet connection, but I am pretending to be creative by harassing the author of this chain instead). Dimitri is an unhelpful access to connection instead, not tail between a raccoon in the third person, confused if redundancy, even though ambivalent necessarily, currently splelchekc would not be Dimitri, therefore stupid question in this world can be divided in two: irtimiD What? ...really. Monika Akinom
I don't think I'll be replying to every message in the future. It's not that I don't appreciate your taking the time to write some of your thoughts—in fact, I'm very grateful—but I get the distinct feeling not every comment was meant to be addressed. You know what I mean?
This next message refers to my review of The Pink Panther 2 for this here website. Well said. Yannis
Thank you for your succinct comment, Yannis. However, I technically didn't say anything. I wrote the whole thing. As you know, I'm quite a big fan of the written word, which is why I started a podcast series... Hold on. That didn't make an ounce of sense. It does make for a good segue though, so here are some of your thoughts regarding our third podcast episode, Nipples Galore. I'm so clever. Like it. Kazim, how long does it take for the preparation? Do you have notes, script, etc? Do you guys rehearse before the recording? Edelweiss
As it happens, Kazim, The Dreamersedge's newest contributor, answered this comment directly, making my job an awful lot easier: Hi Edelweiss. Prep definitely varies according to how much free time I have, and I do try to take notes, otherwise you'll just hear me hemming and hawing for 30 minutes (perhaps braying if the mood takes me). But nothing's rehearsed; we just let the magic happen. Kazim
Wait. What magic? Is this another weird Hobbit thing, Kazim? Anyway, that's it for this edition of DE Expressions. Until next time, keep writing, folks! Next page Previous page Back to the DE Expressions archive |
