July and August 2005 - DE Expressions

On July 24, 2005, after roughly six months on the Internet, the DE website (known as The Dreamersedge at the time) got its first letter. All things considered, I'm rather grateful it wasn't hate mail. I put all the letters in blue for easy reading.

I don't know how I find myself surfing on your site. Lucky me, I like it very much. My favorite piece is Spoiling the Fun. Very witty and absolutely hilarious. How old were you when you wrote it?

I particularly enjoy the game A Time-Warped Valentine. The old game book concept works well on the Internet. What a good idea to adapt it to such a funny adventure. Completely insane. Bravo!

Thank you for the kind words, Toutoucou. I'm glad you're enjoying the website and its humour. To answer your question, I was 24 years old when I wrote Spoiling the Fun. The international community was debating the war on Iraq; Toronto was on the brink of a SARS outbreak; and my e-mail account was getting flooded with surveys and chain letters from sorority girls who, I believe, had just figured out how to use the Internet.

Thanks for writing. When I read your first line, I thought this was a petition, and I couldn't figure out why you would oppose the durability of a Rolex.
