I just realized that I wasn't born when ET came out... I remember seeing it at home with my parents. A car caught fire across the street. The special edition kind of sucks. Why would they show ET right at the beginning?

I also remember liking Mac and Me better for a long time!!!

In any case, I think Aliens would definitely be up there. And probably Ghostbusters. Ooh! And Die Hard! And The Shining! Too many to choose from, which is interesting because I didn't see most of them during the actual 80s.

Yah. A bit awkward. But I think that was expected since it was Seth Macfarlane hosting.

Liked the Kirk bit. Loved the 'Flight' sock puppets.

The von Trapp escape was priceless.

I still think the worst Oscar host by far was David Letterman, who basically tried to turn the Oscars into his "Late Night" show, complete with a top 10 list and Stupid Pet tricks. You want to see awkward? Think "UuuuuMA!!!" Or watch Tom Hanks being made to go onstage to hold the leash of a dog chasing its tail.

I don't want to lose the comment I wrote so I'm pasting it here!: Well, the first one is vastly superior. This one suffers from several problems:
- Silent Hill is a lot about the atmosphere, which was kind of put aside in this movie. I'd say the whole thing is too short, but that's not quite right: more of the same would be terrible however...
- ...characters need more development and exposition needs to be less exposited. If the extra bits were used to do that, it wouldn't be as bad.
- I can't believe they didn't get Akira Yamaoka to do the music for this one too. His music really added to the atmosphere in the first movie (and the games).
- I completely agree about the mannequin scene. That doesn't happen in the game , either (or it's extremely different), so I don't really get why it's in the movie.
- Contrary to the first movie, you can feel the video game behind this. Ironically, it's not even the type of video game that Silent Hill is. And let's not talk about fake 3D events that were only added to works with the glasses. Ugh.

Was it the worse movie ever? No. But it's really really flawed. Better just pay the games!

I still kind of want to see it... but then again, I have played the games.

I don't understand why Vincent is suddenly no longer a creepy jerk... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWXFhD-YIc4
Ad I suppose I'm a bit sad that they didn't go as far as having the sexy beam in the movie! (Ending credit hidden bonus?)
