Wait…. so you went ahead and spoiled yourself? Oh no!

And yes, I agree, Highschool of the Dead is fun. I read the (yet-to-be-completed) manga and saw the first episode of the anime and they were pretty similar. I had a lot of trouble with the fan service, personally, but then again, I am a girl and it’s not directed at me. (I mean, really? Do they need panty and boob shots every second page?!) That being said, it was good enough for me to go through 7 books, so that’s not bad! (granted I love zombies, so that helped bear the bare)

I guess I became increasingly apathetic towards the series during hiatus. Here’s my episode recap.
meh, meh, meh, meh, meh, meh, of course car accident, meh, meh, meh, huh Rick is a quick draw.

As a recommendation,. find the anime Highschool of the Dead and watch it (if you can get past the ridiculous fan service bits). It’s just 12 episodes.

I’ve gotten back into dabbling in comics the last few years. (Paper’s dead, go digital.) First reactions to revisiting my youthful hobbyhorse? Every time they bring Spider-Man to an interesting point, they back away from the ledge and reboot. Whereas mutants can get the &@# kicked out of them repeatedly, it’s almost like nothing Spider-Man can ever live through can be worse than Uncle Ben dying. He’s aged, but they’ve kept him a virtual adolescent for all intents and purposes, more static than many of the other Marvel characters despite his ubiquity. Because of this I’ve actually enjoyed the Ultimate franchise. Sure, bring Peter Parker back to high school. It makes sense. Did he ever leave? And this new trailer, rooted, as you say, in the midst of adolescence is just great. The worry for me was that though I really like Garfield in the few flicks I’ve seen him in, he just looks too old. I like thin. I like sarcastic. But he’s over six feet tall. This disconnect doesn’t survive the trailer sound bite for me and pulls me out of the moment, but fingers crossed that a movie-length performance will let me forget. Still, this outing is ranking over “Dark Knight” for me for 2012 in terms of anticipation. I prefer the high-flying potential of a reboot than the grinding into the ground of the closing out of a trilogy. It can only go up, where the Bat can only go down. – Stray observations: What’s up with red flash every time the web shooters shoot?

I have a Valentine’s Day game idea, if anyone is interested! (except you can’t finish it in one day)
Atlus published this game called Catherine. Without going into too much detail, it’s the story of a guy in two relationships: his girlfriend of 5 years, Katherine, and his new lover, Catherine. It has mythical elements, much like Atlus’ Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series, a twisted story and several endings. Wikipedia describes it as a horror puzzle platformer.

I’m not sure why, but I’ve never been drawn by Spiderman… I haven’t even seen the second and third movies (don’t bother telling me to watch the second but not the third).

Does this trailer make me want to sit through the new movie?
Yes and no. I do like Emma Stone. And I find that the Lizard is a very interesting character to have in a movie. I just like those villains that you can’t really beat because you know they’re actually good. (What’s with all the scientist villains, though? It’s like they jock-ize Peter Parker and make him beat up successful nerds!)

But, then, the trailer and its story just don’t really pull me in… I suppose I’ll see what happens when it comes out!

(Ok, I’m not really wanting a movie about Kraven either, I just like the comic from the link…)
